Deimco Finishing Equipment provides a wide range of custom engineered powder and liquid finishing systems. Deimco Finishing Equipment was recently contacted by a growing custom powder coater.

The customer needed to migrate from a spray to waste environment to a reclaim operation. With their wide mix of part profiles, several of the parts lended themselves to automatic powder application. However, a significant percentage of their products were deep parts with complex geometries that could only be hand sprayed.

When the customer contacted Deimco they faced a dilemma. They didn’t know if their footprint or their finances could afford two new reclaim booths, one manual and one automatic.

After discussing the customer’s needs, Deimco developed a custom hybrid booth. The booth has entrance and exit part openings that are 4’ wide x 5’6" high. Parts enter the booth and pass a 6’ wide x 8’ long automatic section with 4 automatic gun slots. After the automatic section, the booth widens to 9’ in width. This manual application section provides ample room for the operators to manually spray deeper, more complex parts. The application specific solution enabled the customer to address all their part types in a single booth within the customer’s available footprint and budget.
